A little To Late

I look at you with so much passion
I bother not to look at the price tag as I know you are beyond my league
Yet I couldn’t shake the need for you in my system
Everyday my eyes don’t see YOU; I’m reminded of how much I need YOU in my life
Peeping through Jenni Button’s store, YOU are that top of the range attire I know I can’t afford due to the shallowness of my pocket
To console my heart and my lack to be able, I pass by the store daily to see if YOU are still there, to see if I’m not the only one without the means to possess YOU
As I find myself dwelling on YOU, I fantasize about YOU miraculously leaving the store sprinting to my heart,
I hear YOU say YOU want me to be your rightful owner
We celebrate your arrival and we wed
Then I wake from my dreams, to find YOU gone
My heart hopes to hear that YOU are last season and that better stock is coming soon
I finally pluck up the strength to enter Jenni Button to enquire about your whereabouts
To confirm to my heart that old stock is being packed away at the backroom, making way for the new trendy in-season stock
Before I could even greet the cashier hello, my eyes went teary as they couldn’t stand the sight of what was transpiring just before me
The young able lady next to me was putting YOU in her bag, waving goodbye to the cashier who helped her purchase YOU
YOU are gone and I do not even have the slip to prove YOU really did exist
Didn’t even wear YOU in the fitting room to see how perfectly YOU would fit me
Hope your new possessor treats YOU well, perhaps she needs YOU more
I will be waiting for the new arrivals, hoping that one of them will be better than YOU
I will use all the money I saved up for YOU to buy me another YOU
But YOU are irreplaceable, no fabric made will ever match up to yours, there can never be another YOU
I can only hope to find something half as beautiful as YOU next month when the new stock arrives
